Merlin looked up into the night sky and saw a goddess which reminded him the most of his true Love - the white orb Luna. Luna. The very name suited her beautifully.

The magician smiled.  Again.

He considered himself quite a dufus for not seeing the many clues that Nimue had sent him earlier. Merlin had been going by far too strict an interpretation of the language of the nymphs. In reality, she had been using a more common form, almost like a slang way of speaking and the magician had only seen through it inermittantly before. To read their strange way of speaking, one had to use certain assumptions to break the code - otherwise nothing made sense.

First, Merlin had to assume that the little nymph Loved him - something she often used to conceal to great effect.

Second, he had to assume she had a great sense of humor and loved to tease him. If one read her slang carefully, her wit and personality was readily identifiable. The magician had always suspected that this was in Nimue's character, but she was so shy that he seldom saw it directly.

Now many doors were opened to him and things started to make sense.  The seemingly irrational was actually becoming quite rational on her part.

What a little devil she was! It seemed that she had assumed he saw much more than he had until now. He found himself shaking his head at her sneakiness. It was all as he had believed many years ago. What an adventure she had taken him on! How she had made him worry for her future and safety!  Now it seemed that she had only been teasing him!

Nymphs!  Luna! They went together.
